Who are we?
Fran Alexander is an Information Architect, Taxonomist, and Ontologist by profession. She was inspired to become an entrepreneur after winning the FinTech Formathon in 2017, where she met co-founder Veryan. As a specialist in knowledge organization, metadata, search systems, and digital archives, she is dedicated to helping people manage information overload. She has degrees from Oxford and University College London and moved from the UK to Montreal in 2013.
When Mohsen isn't designing sophisticated algorithms and writing code for Truba, he studies for a PhD at Ecole de Technologie Supérieure in Montreal. He's working on Reinforcement Learning methods to tackle dynamic and stochastic problems.
Monica is a digital marketing and communications specialist, with an International Business degree from Concordia University. With a great eye for design and tons of creative ideas, she is putting in place a strategy to make sure everyone gets to hear about Truba.
Stéphane's first degree was in Computer Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana, and he is soon to finish his Master's at École Polytechnique de Montréal. In the meantime, he takes care of all sorts of full stack dev work at Truba.
Veryan Goodship was a Financial Advisor before meeting co-founder Fran at the FinTech Formathon in 2017. He's learned many skills on the job, from accounting, to web development, to recruitment, to contract drafting. He has a degree from Concordia University in Economics, and previously lived in France and England before moving to Montreal in 2002.
With a BSc from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Saif is a Mitacs-sponsored research intern working on software research and development for Truba. He is sorting out our NLP methods and focusing on semantic similarity assessments.
